Morning Sickness

My Daughter is now 9 weeks 2 days and has been suffering with morning sickness the last few weeks.
It seems to be quite bad she has lost 7 lbs in weight due to being so sick and just going off food completely.
She has tried the ginger biscuits and dried crackers and other ways and nothing has seemed to have worked.

We have joked that she could be quite bad with morning sickness because she is carrying twins , We have to wait a few more weeks for the first scan to see how many are in there.

Some days she seems better then others where she can eat and it will stay down or she is just sick in the mornings and by lunch time its eased off.
Then she has days where anything she eats just comes back up , A prime example was a couple of days ago I was chatting to her via  Facebook Private messenger  and she was feeling hungry but also sick so she had some cereal and only a hour later she was in the bathroom bring it back up.

She has even said she can`t see her self wanting any more children for a very long time because she has been so sick,She has said she can`t remember the last time she felt normal. I have said to her she will only remember in time that she suffered with morning sickness but won`t remember how bad it was and that next time she could be completely different in a better way.

When I carried my girls it was so easy ,But with my boys I was in and out of hospital had water infections and other problems.
I remember being sick a couple of times when pregnant ,But I can not remember how bad it was (we are talking 22 years ago).

I think about her every day and wonder how she is coping with that days sickness but I don`t want to be bombarding her daily with text messages or phone calls because it would drive her mad and she would properly get quite annoyed with me. But on the other hand I wonder if she really needs me because of being so sick.

I even brought her these "Sea-Band Mama drug free morning sickness relief pink Acupressure wrist bands" from Ebay for £7.99 to try and help in anyway I can. They arrived Friday and she said she was still sick on Saturday so I don`t know if even these will work for her.

Any other time I would be there with her to look after her but I have been awaiting my appointment with the hospital regarding my Biopsy results which they said would be three weeks. I had the phone call on Thursday to ask me to attend on Monday 18th  ,I just can`t believe the date they have giving me because its the same date as my daughters first midwife appointment. I have not told her about my appointment on Monday because I do not want her to be worrying about me when she should be excited/happily looking forward to her first appointment.

The News We Have Longed For

The 21st April 2015  did not started off like any normal day in the household because I had been taken Champix tablets to give up smoking and this was the first full day I did not want a cigarette which I was well impressed with seeing as I had only been taking the tablets for 7 days and they do say to pick a date between days 8-14 I had already picked the 28th the day I was due to go in to hospital (Which I will tell you about in a later post).

So had my morning cup of tea , breakfast and daily tablets, powered on the laptop and put the morning news on TV and about mid morning eldest Daughter rings me for a chat which she normally does on her day off work and we can end up being on the phone for at least two hours plus.

My daughter asked did I want to go on Skype and chat (don`t know why we don`t do it that way more often it is free).I log on to video call and see my daughter on the screen and she just looks different she has this sparkle in her eyes and that look only a mother knows and I start to ask her if everything is all ok and she replies that everything is but she cant hide this huge smile across her face.

Suddenly the penny drops as I know my daughter and son in law have been trying for a few months to start a family and I ask her if there is something she wants to tell me and her dad and she nods her head still with a huge grin on her face.  I call my husband over and tells him our daughter wants to chat to us and I scribble on a piece of paper

"Daddy she is pregnant"

We are over the moon and smiling away and clapping hands and cuddling and just so so happy. Daughter is then a bit deflated because she has always wanted to tell us face to face and after the 12 week scan but just could not contain her self any more and I totally understand I could not keep a huge secret like that when I found out I was expecting her.

We never pushed her for information so when we finished our call on Skype all we knew was we were going to be grand parents ,We did not know how many weeks she was , When little one was due nothing.

So I started remembering certain bits from previous calls I had with daughter over the last few weeks and worked out it was going to be a December-January baby which was great because the Dad to be has a birthday in December and Mum to be has a birthday in January.

We can`t wait to watch our daughter Bloom threw out her pregnancy and welcome our new grandchild or children as Dad to be is a twin.
